One of the rooms in our home that’s still a “work in progress” is our living room. We’re still waiting on some key pieces (like our new couch and rug), but have already filled half the space with items we already have, plus some new accessories. This room gets the best light in the whole apartment, so it’s where we spend most of our time with family and friends. Whether it’s gathering for a movie night, or celebrating a birthday with cocktails, it’s become our hub for entertaining. Scroll through to see more of what we’ve done with the space so far, and how I incorporated more pieces from my BaubleBar Collaboration! (Also wearing this dress) I was so excited when we found a place with built-in bookshelves! It meant we could move our old Ikea shelves to another room for storage, allowing space for more seating in the living room. We have a ton of books, so for styling the bookshelves we narrowed down the books by color. That way they look cohesive and pull in the other shades throughout the room. I love these bright agate bookends from the BBxGMG collection that come in both pink and blue. I’m always wearing at least a few different dainty rings. We created this Lakeview Ring Set so that it mixes rose gold, silver and gold. It comes in a set of four rings, which can either be stacked together on one finger, or worn separately on multiple fingers (like I did in the above photo). I couldn’t wait to fill these adorable ombre planters with mini succulents. We had originally placed them in a row on our mantle but then disbursed them throughout our bookshelves, where they currently remain. Even though the room isn’t quite “finished”, in a way it already feels complete. Since we’re only waiting on major pieces now, the accessories really add so much life and character to the room. We recently had these vintage stools reupholstered in a leopard fabric, which brought a whole new life to them! They definitely make a statement in the room. We wanted to incorporate a few entertaining items into the collection, and I loved the idea of a mix of coasters. We chose four different styles; the Yay! coasters, the “Hustle” coasters, the script acrylic monogram coasters and the block acrylic monogram coasters. All four are customizable with a variety of colors! They also make the perfect gift, especially the monogrammed ones for a personal touch. The wine charms from the collection are another great gift idea for this holiday season. As an avid wine drinker, these will be perfect for dinner parties to differentiate between each other’s glasses. I’ll be revealing more of our home as additional pieces slowly start to come in! In case you missed the two previous posts, you can see our office here, and our bedroom here. Also, don’t forget to check out more of my collection with BaubleBar here!

To make the sofa in this Manhattan living room appear longer, designer Ashley Whittaker ordered a single cushion for the seat of the Century Furniture chesterfield, covered in a Rogers & Goffigon canvas: “It’s more comfortable than individual cushions — no one falls into the cracks.” The Billy Baldwin Studio slipper chair in a David Hicks linen from Lee Jofa is on a swivel, “so you can turn and talk to people at either end of the room,” and the acrylic coffee table opens up the seating area. In the living room of Nina Farmer’s Beacon Hill apartment, originally the parlor of a c. 1850 house, her subtle palette blends proper Bostonian restoration, cosmopolitan taste, and relaxed modernity. A custom mirrored cabinet atop the mantel hides a TV. Art Deco armchairs face John Derian poufs, a Plexi-Craft table, and an indigo leather ottoman color-keyed to the antique fireplace tiles.

There’s never such a thing as too much blue according to designer Tobi Fairley. She wrapped this glamorous Fayetteville, Arkansas, living room in layers of pale blue tones. For a hazy and serene look, the walls are a powder blue Venetian plaster.

In the living room of a Los Angeles house, designer Mary McDonald employed hints of color against a neutral backdrop for a quietly refined mood. “In monochrome rooms, texture is key,” says McDonald, who covered the custom-made chaise in Pierre Frey’s Ice linen, and Reagan Hayes’s Henry sofa in a Duralee cotton velvet, with pillows in Schumacher’s Chinon silk and Padova damask. McDonald designed English-style bookcases in taupe with back panels painted a pale blue. The Klismos chairs are from JF Chen.

A seating area of the living room in a New York apartment has a glamorous, exotic feel. A sofa is covered in Vesuvius by Clarence House, and an Empire fauteuil sits on a custom Moroccan rug from Metropolitan Carpet. The box-pleat ruffles on the unlined silk taffeta curtains — Dedar’s Big Bang — “give you a sense of fantasy and femininity,” says designer Miles Redd.
